New Member Inducted at August Dinner Meeting

The Christopher Gist Chapter inducted a new member at this August dinner meeting.
William Curtis Hearst of Clarion, PA was honored to be the new member in front of twenty witnesses. The dinner hosted by Doug Tapager at Alameda Park in Butler featured a presentation by Compatriot John Hunter. John Hunter presented his ancestor's genealogy and traced his role in the revolutionary War.
Joining the program was William McKim PA State District Deputy. Bill presented the meeting members with his detail update on state and national affairs.

Veterans Remembered

November, 2006 the Christopher Gist Chapter honored Iraqi War Veteran Spc. Carl F. Curran 22. Carl Curran died in action May 16, 2006. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Oil City PA.
His parents Dave and Manuela received the chapters Citizenship Award in November during our Veterans Day Patriotism service.
Ray Sielski attended the dedication of the new Brady Bridge spanning the Allegheny named in Spc. Carl F. Curran's name.

CRITCHLOW GRAVE REDEDICATION
Cameron Underwood rededicated the Critchlow grave as he undertook the project to earn his Eagle Rank for the Boy Scouts. A major project required the complete troop support and support from the community as well as the Christopher Gist Chapter. Presided by President Ray Sielski the grave site was rededicated on September 6, 2007.

Master Sargent Abie Abraham was honored by the chapter on Wednesday August 8, 2007.
Abie a survivor of the Bataan Death March spoke to the membership and presented from his released book; Oh God Where Are You.
